SARAH & NICK
Honestly, how good?!
I love when couples bring the things they genuinely enjoy into their day rather than feeling like they need to do things a certain way. For Sarah and Nick, that meant motorbikes, a beautiful coastal elopement on the Gold Coast and a post 'just married' beer at an iconic Currumbin surf club.
From the moment I met these two, I could tell how much they adored each other. Their connection was so apparent straight away, and they're both such genuinely lovely people. They're the kind of couple who are always up for an adventure, whether that's travelling the world together, surfing, camping or heading out on their motorbikes. Getting to capture them in a place that felt so fitting for who they are was pretty special.
Their barefoot ceremony took place near Elephant Rock in Currumbin, with the ocean as their backdrop. They exchanged rings and shared personal vows with each other, and it was such a beautiful moment to witness. The Gold Coast coastline really does make the most incredible setting for an elopement, and Elephant Rock is one of my favourite spots for exactly that reason.
A 125cc & a post 'just married' beer
Despite being such a small area, you can tuck around the rocks and find so many different backdrops. Look north and you've got views towards Burleigh; head the other way and you've got the Coolangatta coastline stretching out to the south. It gives you so much variety without having to go far at all.
The wind definitely picked up while we were there, but honestly, I reckon it just added to the vibe. A bit of movement in the dress, hair blowing back and the ocean doing its thing, it all felt very fitting for these two.
It was also whale migration season, and we were lucky enough to spot a couple of whales putting on a show offshore, jumping out of the water while we were taking photos. Definitely not something you can plan for, but such a cool little bonus to an already beautiful afternoon.
After exchanging their vows and rings, Sarah and Nick hopped onto their 125cc, ready to ride off together. They really wanted this part of their day captured, and I loved that it was something so personal to them. No fancy getaway car here, just the two of them on their bike, heading off into the sunset as newlyweds. As I said earlier.. How good?!
After the ceremony and portraits, they headed to Vikings Currumbin for a well-deserved post-elopement Stone and Wood overlooking the ocean.
Have you been to this surf club? If not, get yourself there! It's such a good spot to sit back, enjoy the view and watch the waves roll in. And after an afternoon like theirs, I can't think of a better way to celebrate getting married.
Sarah and Nick, thank you for letting me be part of such a special day. I loved getting to know you both and capturing all these little pieces of your story. I hope the adventures keep coming, the waves keep delivering, and that you both get that barrel you're dreaming of one day haha. 🤍
